S&S Flooring Studio has opened a new design center at 448 N. Battlefield Blvd. in Chesapeake, expanding the rebranded flooring company's footprint in Hampton Roads.

Co-owners SarahGrace Schroder and Troy Schroder took over Carpet II in 2024, a flooring company that had served Hampton Roads for more than three decades. The company's website traces the business back to 1991. The couple rebranded it as S&S Flooring Studio.

The Chesapeake showroom held an unveiling event Sept. 12, inviting visitors to tour the design center and meet the team.

The new location offers luxury vinyl, hardwood, engineered hardwood, carpet, tile and commercial flooring systems.

Customers can use room-visualization technology to preview flooring selections in their own spaces before making a purchase.

The company's Virginia Beach location at 508 Central Drive, Suite 101, also remains open.

From Carpet II to S&S Flooring Studio

Carpet II began in 1991 as a family-owned flooring business serving homeowners and commercial customers across Hampton Roads.

The business adopted the S&S Flooring Studio name following its transition to the Schroders' ownership in 2024.

According to the company's history, the rebrand was intended to preserve its established flooring services while expanding its emphasis on design, technology and customer service.

SarahGrace and Troy Schroder are identified as owners on the company's website.

The business serves homeowners, designers, real estate professionals, property managers, builders, general contractors and commercial clients.

What the design center offers
