Drivers in Chesapeake should expect lane restrictions on the Chesapeake 168 Expressway and Dominion Boulevard between Sunday, Nov. 1, and Wednesday, Nov. 4, as crews carry out guardrail repairs, a bridge inspection and equipment repairs.

The City of Chesapeake has issued three travel advisories for the scheduled work.

Overnight closure near Hillcrest Parkway

The right lane and shoulder of the northbound Chesapeake 168 Expressway near Hillcrest Parkway will close from 11 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, to 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, for guardrail repair.

Motorists should follow posted signs through the work area, according to the city's travel advisory.

Bridge inspection Monday on Route 168

Alternating lane closures will affect both northbound and southbound traffic on the Chesapeake 168 Expressway beneath Battlefield Boulevard South on Monday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The restrictions will allow crews to conduct a bridge inspection, according to a separate city advisory.

Drivers should watch for posted signs and changing lane restrictions while the inspection is underway.

Dominion Boulevard closure Wednesday

On Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the right lane and shoulder of northbound Dominion Boulevard at the Veterans Bridge will close for equipment repair.

The city's advisory asks motorists to follow posted signage near the bridge.

All three restrictions are scheduled lane or shoulder closures, not full roadway shutdowns. Drivers should allow for possible delays and follow traffic controls in each work area.
